• Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) (visit site) - Operates the national system which evaluates, registers and regulates agricultural and veterinary chemicals.

• Australian Plague Locust Commission (visit site) - Established to organise the control of an insect which migrates over long distances and poses an interstate threat to agricultural industries.

• Bureau of Rural Sciences (BRS) (visit site) - Provides advice to government on areas such as drought, feral animals, climate, forestry, social impact, fisheries and land management. BRS also creates a number of online tools to assist in decision making.

• Science and Innovation Awards (visit site) - The Science and Innovation Awards for Young People in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry gives students and workers aged 18-35 $10,000 grants to conduct projects that benefit rural industries.
