Following a recent fish kill in Queensland, there are calls for the insecticide chlorpyrifos to be banned.
A quote from the story labels the chemical as "one of the most hazardous chemicals on the market and it should not be in general use". This is not correct - chlorpyrifos is in many home garden insecticides, which are subject to even greater restrictions than agricultural chemicals.
If chlorpyrifos is banned, it will leave a lot of horticultural growers with very few options for pest control.
