hi people,
i found this site looking for some information for a uni assignment. i am one of te ignorant Australias who dont have the faintist idea about or agricultural industry or the problems faced by those who rely on it as thier source of income. i am doing an assignment on the problems facing farmers both worldwide and on our home soil, just wndering if someone could maybe outline what those problems are so that i might know where to start researching. furthermore could anyone help me out by suggesting what the primary industries arounf the hunter vally of NSw are; besides wine and coal! cheers any feedback would be very muchly appreciated!
You have asked a very broad question. There are different issues facing agriculture in Australia when compared with other countries, and each industry is different. Farmers also tend to specialise, so a grain producer has different concerns to someone that runs an orchard.
Spend some time looking at the ABC Rural web site (http://www.abc.net.au/rural/) or listening to the Country Hour on the radio. You will soon find out what some of the issues are.
I wouldn't usually say this, but if you are studying at university it would be worthwhile working on your spelling and grammar. Your post above contains a lot of mistakes and is very difficult to read.

try locating your local agricultural bureau every major town has one also the department of agriculture maybe able to help. Don't be surprised if you get a over supply of info from them, the majority of farmers love to have good bitch about everything (me in in particular :D ), part of life im afraid....

As well as wine and coal, there is still some dairy farming. Also a big hay area (mainly irrigated lucerne). Also a lot of horse studs (some locally owned- some overseas). A fair number of beef cattle about too.
