At last we are able to take the first positive steps towards eradicating those invasive agressive crop damaging Indian Mynas and Starlings.
This is due to the development of an effective trap for them. I am leading the charge but require team leaders to organise their friends and neighbours so that traps can be working throughout entire regions. A web-site will soon be up but in the meantime feel free to contact me for more information or to discuss how you can help. Together we can beat them.
:) The traps are available now so call (02) 9872 5822 to organise yours.

Hi all,

Parties interested in trapping mynas should have a look at http://www.myna.net.au/bulletinboard where discussions regarding trap purchases, ethics, warnings, problems etc. etc are conducted regularly. The Myna Magnet Indian myna trap is available for purchase at http://www.mynamagnet.com.au. It should be noted that this is the only University designed (Dr. Chris Tidemann- ANU) and proven Indian Myna trap, where a percentage of all sales is returned to further the research into this major problem. Please be an educated buyer before commiting your hard earned dollars to this worthwhile cause.....

It should also be noted that these traps are also highly effective Starling traps with one purchaser recording a catch 36 starlings in one cycle (5-7days).

Profits from the trap used by the Indian Myna Eradication Program also go into R&D with some very useful positive developments.
The Indian Myna Eradication program does not apply for Government funding and waste money on research which is never going to further the removal of Indian Mynas.
A " MynaX' trap is a good investment and an investment in the future of our native birds and marsupials.
To assume that academics are the only ones capable of designing effective products is a very foolish assumption indeed.
One of the new products developed by this program is currently undergoing trials in Cairns (a notoriously hard area to trap Indian Mynas)
The trials started this week and have already produced results with birds being caught within the first two hours!
More details will be available at the conclusion of the trials.
No academics were involved in this development!
