I have been contacted by a overseas mill in Japan requesting information about organic wool growers here in Australia, any members here growing organic wool or at least chemical free wool?

Buronga Organics (http://www.burongaorganics.com.au) is listed in the directory, they produce organic beef and lamb (I think), not sure about wool though. They might be able to point you in the right direction anyway.

Here's a recent story from Landline that might be of interest too:

First go at this AgLinks forum ... so hope it works

Anyway - we are researching possible markets for our organic wool this year. Normally we sell before they are shorn but this year things have changed a bit. We are certified organic (BFA) and will be shearing 250 merino / merino crosses in about a month. They only have 9 months wool on them. What quality are they after?

Cheers

18.5 micron average - so wool can range between 17.8 and 19.4 micron, vm does not matter really and between 75 and 100 mm in length and MF5 or better.

I have a contact in Germany who designs and produces Organic Toys and Garments for babies and children and is looking for suppliers of Organic Wool in Australia. Any contacts available?

yes do want the growers? or the exporters?, however what spec's does he have - locks , crutchings or lambs wool?, they would not require high quality wool

Not sure of the specifications to be exact. They use cleaned raw wool for stuffing of toys however they also manufacture garments for women and children using virgin wool but would prefer to use organic wool if sufficient quantities can be obtained. I will check with my source.
