Maiden Heifers - Bull Selection

I am new to this game, and would like some advice from the Experienced...

I have 16 brahman Heifers that are 2 years old. I want to get them in calf but am unsure about the breed of the bull to use (they will be done by AI).

I have been researching the bulls and their Breedplan EVBs, however as I am new to this and I don't know what it all means. I have read that I should use a bull that has a birth weight EBVs of less than +4.0 kg (for maiden Heifers). What does this mean... what is plus v's negative. To go one step further, I dont know what the rest means as well (200,400,600)..:confused:

If you are looking for a bull that is not an Brahman for calving ease, then you cant go past a Lowline bull.

Search kobblevalelowlines on the web, they use lowlines over their Brahman's.
