can users flag forum catagories to receive email notification on a new entry into a category - say when a new entry is entered into Cropping? :thumb

I don't think so. I can set that option manually in the Admin but users can't in their profile. You can subscribe to threads once you post in one, but not entire forums.

If I remember rightly, there was a hack for vBulletin 2.x that did allow users to flag forums to subscribe to. I'll look into it for vBulletin 3 and let you know.

Ok, it's easier than I thought it would be :).

When you are viewing a forum, there is a link (top right) called 'Forum Tools' with a dropdown list. Click 'Subscribe To This Forum' and then you get an option to receive a daily or weekly email digest.

It's not instantaneous but you won't miss anything :thumb.
